Who we are

Apply here.

Little Darlings Playgroup is a coeducational kindergarten that follows Chilean and British traditions. Our bilingual education focuses on play-based learning and inquiry, seeking to develop creativity and collaboration among our pupils, in a safe and caring environment.

We promote open mindedness and teamwork as well as cultural, religious and social diversity.

From the first day of classes, pupils receive instruction in English as a second language, ensuring bilingual immersion and exposure for all participants.

Each class is led by two teachers, and the class schedule is Monday to Friday, from 8.20 to 12.35. For those interested, we offer an After School programme until 14.50 from Monday to Thursday.

To apply to Little Darlings Playgroup 2025, children must be three years old by March 31st 2025 and be toilet trained. Pupils come to classes wearing comfortable clothes that contribute to their autonomy.

We have 75 places available each year divided in three groups, each of them with a preschool teacher in charge and a maximum of 25 pupils.

Little Darlings Playgroup is not part of the Craighouse School educational cycle. Families of the Little Darlings Playgroup who do not have children studying at Craighouse School and would like to apply to Prekinder must follow the formal admissions process that takes place each year in March.

You can find us at the Craighouse School campus, on Avenida Pie Andino 8837, Lo Barnechea, 7700494. Our phone numbers are 56 227 560 201 and 56 227 560 243, and our contact email is littledarlingsplaygroup@craighouse.cl.

What makes Little Darlings Playgroup one-of-a-kind?

  • English and Spanish bilingual education: from the first day of class, children are taught in English, which ensures bilingual immersion and exposure for all pupils.
  • Academic excellence: our educational project fully integrates the academic area—comprehensive and expressive oral language, fine and gross motor skills, and logical mathematical skills—and the formative area—autonomy, identity, and social interaction. It is also based on the best teaching practices available around the world, including the Reggio Emilia approach to teaching and learning, and the International Baccalaureate’s PYP (Primary Years Programme).
  • Play-based learning:  Our “Learning through play” methodology involves a comprehensive development of all areas of interest among pupils, taking into consideration their individual preferences, and educational needs.
  • Quality teaching: All Little Darlings Playgroup teachers and educators are renowned professionals from Chile’s most prestigious universities with each child’s care and learning as their main focus.
  • Stimulation:  Little Darlings Playgroup stimulates and promotes pupils’ curiosity, desire to learn, and growth, both individually and as a group, respecting their development processes and enabling them to reach their full potential.
  • Values: We teach our pupils to act with respect and consideration, while observing our community’s values.
  • Diversity:
  • In Little Darlings Playgroup we embrace diversity and difference as a fundamental part of our identity and culture.
  • In line with this philosophy, we accept all religious beliefs and protect our pupils’ comprehensive development.

  • Caring:  We offer a warm, caring environment, and we are concerned with and committed to the whole community.
  • Physical Education: the stimulation of psychomotor skills and physical activity is a vital part of our pupils’ comprehensive development. For this purpose, our campus’ infrastructure features four natural grass fields, two synthetic grass fields, spacious changing rooms, infirmary, and quincho.
  • Infrastructure: Little Darlings Playgroup has classrooms, play areas, and toilets exclusively reserved for the children who are part of the programme, with independent access. Our campus is located in 24 hectares in Lo Barnechea.
